I always adore people with perseverance in doing what they love for an inner fulfillment which I believe, a road to happiness. So In Today’s Blog, you will be surprised with someone who is determined to pursue success in doing what she enjoys during her rest days from work as her achievements in life! It also amazes me to meet people like her with full of dreams and aspirations in life and the people behind the Fantasy Funshoot that I am so inspired about.
Meet Cholita Neri
You may call her Micah, an OFW in Singapore who loves music, fashion, photography, arts, and crafts.
She told me that she gets busier during her weekend off for meetups and events. She used to manage her time with guitar lessons and enrolled in baking. She likes arts and crafting with Best in Craft award for a trophy at DAWN School in Singapore. She joined with many other opportunities like pageants shows and awarded 2nd-placer as Muse Representative and Miss OWWA for Best Production Number. After that, she received invites from schools for Summer Look pageant gaining 2nd-placer and awarded for Miss Charming.
It is her way to battle the loneliness inside of her for being away from home as an Overseas Filipino Worker. She makes herself busy all the time to feel occupied with people when she misses home in the Philippines. In spite of that, Micah is a top 6 winner for Miss Filipinas 2016 held in Singapore which gave her attention to continue making herself on the spot which helped her a lot from being homesick. It’s the reason why she continues to do more of what she loves and started to organize the fantasy costumes for photoshoots.
Fantasy Funshoot began when a group of friends decided to do photoshoots showcasing with their costumes in different themes they made on their own creativity. They learned to make costumes from watching on youtube and online tips. They practice it until they make it fabulous, and try many themes like Santa Claus, Snow White, Maleficent and more.
They did their first shots in 2015 with other 4 members and their Photographer Hapz, and who are now the co-organisers of the said Fantasy Funshoots. It was then successful in putting a lot of creativity and teamwork every weekend. The 5 of them were delighted with the outcome of their first shots and decided to continue their passion for modeling, photo shoots, makeup, and costumes by inviting others to join as a package. They invite other photographers, models (like Dream Top Models), makeup artists, and bloggers to join and collaborate with them and make friends with other kababayans (Filipinos) who are also away from home.
They recently invited Dean Avelino who is a part of Dream Top Model for a photo shoot. That’s where I met all of them and the founder of the group, Micah, who officially started their monthly gathering since 2015 and it had always been successful. You can message them for bookings to join them as they bring delicious foods for you while chitchats and shoots. The pictures below are their past group pictures with their invited guests, photographers, and makeup artists.

She continues to invite others who want to wear creative costumes and pose for a camera to share what they’ve got. She said, “you don’t have to be a professional model to express yourself through photos, you can be anyone you want to be when you strike a pose.”
Her passion for making costumes, posing on camera and showing herself through pageant shows was once all began as her fantasy until she owned it and made a fantasy to be a reality.
